CLC Hosts YAFFED for Screening and Discussion on Educational Equity
The Children’s Law Center was proud to host YAFFED for a screening of Unorthodox Education, followed by an engaging conversation on children’s rights, educational equity, and access to quality education.
The event created space for meaningful dialogue around the importance of ensuring that every child has access to a robust education and the opportunities that come with it. Through the screening, attendees gained insight into the educational experiences of children in some Hasidic and Haredi yeshivas, as well as the broader systemic challenges surrounding educational access and equity.
YAFFED is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for equitable, quality education for children in Hasidic and Haredi communities. Their work focuses on promoting educational standards that equip students with the academic tools and opportunities needed to thrive, while advancing conversations around children’s rights and educational justice.
Dialogue on Children’s Rights and Educational Justice
Following the film, attendees participated in a thoughtful discussion with YAFFED representatives and legal advocates, exploring the intersection of education, advocacy, and child welfare. The conversation underscored the importance of community dialogue, legal advocacy, and collective action in protecting children’s rights.
At CLC, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and access the resources necessary to reach their full potential. We are grateful to YAFFED for sharing their work with our community and for helping advance this important conversation on educational justice.
