About CLC
The Children’s Law Center is a nonprofit that empowers young people experiencing disruption or violence in their family lives.
Children’s voices are often neglected in court cases that decide fundamental aspects of their lives. At the same time, a disproportionate number of children involved in the court system face chronic disinvestment, racial bias, and poverty. The trauma they experience is complex, but their need to have a voice is not.
- 85% of CLC clients are children of color
- 70% of client families report being on Medicaid
- 30% of clients are victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse or other abuse
CLC fights for some of the most vulnerable children in our City. We are here for them every step of the way, empowering them to shape their future.
Celebrating our 2026 honorees
We are delighted to honor the following three individuals for their support of children’s access to justice.
Tammy Albarrán
We are honored to present Ms. Albarrán with the 2026 Judge Judith Kaye Award. Named for Judge Judith Kaye, a fierce advocate for children, this award recognizes leaders who support our vital mission to ensure excellence in Family Court.

Tammy Albarrán is the Chief Legal Officer of Peloton, a position she has held since 2022. In this role, she oversees the company’s global legal, compliance, security and policy teams. Prior to joining Peloton, she oversaw Uber’s global legal teams and was a driving force behind the company’s cultural transformation.
In 2017, Ms. Albarran was asked to join former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder in investigating Uber’s workplace culture in the wake of multiple complaints of sexual harassment and misconduct by female employees. Ms. Albarran co-authored a report with 44 recommendations, all of which were unanimously accepted by Uber’s Board of Directors. She was later asked to join Uber as its Deputy General Counsel and implement the recommendations.

Mr. Miller spearheaded the development and execution of non-partisan, common-sense corporate crime enforcement strategies, including expansion of national security-related enforcement, establishment of DOJ’s new whistleblower program for white collar offenses, implementation of DOJ-wide corporate self-disclosure policies, and launch of DOJ’s Compensation Incentives and Clawbacks program.
For his service, Mr. Miller received the Edmund J. Randolph Award, DOJ’s highest honor, bestowed on an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the DOJ mission.

Vulnerable children across our City need someone in their corner. Your donation supports the highest quality legal representation for children who are experiencing both family instability and the stress of court involvement.
Examples of your Impact:
- $1,000 allows us to support two, one-year stipends for Fellows of our Children’s Voice Project
- $5,000 provides us with funding to support 500 gifts for our young clients who are graduating from lower or middle school
- $25,000 would enable us to expand the number of hours for our sole attorney in Staten Island
- $100,000 would allow us to dedicate an attorney to fighting for immigration assistance for our clients
Through our work in the courtroom and the community, CLC empowers clients, reduces the negative impacts of family dissolution and court involvement, advocates for systemic change, and promotes well-being and equity for young people. In 2025, we represented 8,400 children in Family Courts across New York City.
Your support will help us expand programming that helps children achieve safety while improving their educational, health and immigration outcomes.
