Deana A. Tietjen, Esq.

Deana Tietjen is currently the Deputy Executive Director of The Children’s Law Center. 

Prior to coming to CLC, she led the Adoption & Legal Services Department for The New York Foundling, a NYC social services agency, for 8 years where she created and oversaw a comprehensive in-house legal department for all proceedings in family court, including custody, guardianship, termination of parental rights and neglect/abuse and adoption cases.  Ms. Tietjen was in private practice for 15 years, representing individual clients and children’s services agencies throughout New York City and Westchester County. She served as Assistant Director for the YWCA Supervised Visitation Program in Westchester County for visitation/custody cases that alleged domestic violence, abuse and neglect.

She serves on both The Juvenile Justice Committe and the Council on Children for The New York City Bar Association and is a graduate of Syracuse University and New England Law School.
